Merge fields like {{first_name}} are filled per recipient at send time.

A segment is how texts are counted and billed. Up to 160 characters is 1 segment (70 with emoji or special characters). Longer texts split into 153-character segments (67 with emoji or special characters). The character counter shows the exact segment count before you send.
